Position description

The Information Technology Workstation Support Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining all the Information Technology and Software needs of non-Information Technology employees.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responds to requests made from users through the ticket support system, phone hotline, and walk-ins
  • Creates and maintains support tickets, with an option to escalate if necessary
  • Performs troubleshooting steps on equipment and network components to resolve issues
  • Provides training and guidance to users on multiple devices and software packages
  • Support users who are working remotely via telephone and remote access technology
  • Configures, installs hardware and software, and deploys new user workstations
  • Performs new printer setup, deployment, and workstation configuration
  • Prepares IT equipment for recycling, donating, or disposal
  • Generates and assists documentation creation and testing for procedures
  • Performs periodic desktop and printer computer maintenance
  • Performs tasks related to cable identification and cable management
  • Performs periodic machine, software, and network component audits
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with supporting servers, storage systems, and other similar resources
  • Run and terminate Ethernet cable runs
  • Assist with supporting LAN, WAN, and network related hardware
  • Maintains a patient, polite, respectful manner, delivering an exquisite customer service experience
  • Capable of having many open tasks at once
  • Systematically able to recall or record information so that details or requests are not forgotten

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma

The following skills are preferred but not required:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree
  • One year in an IT related position
