How Aggressive Tooling Delivered a Game-Changing Robotic Solution for Robroy Enclosures

Here at Aggressive Tooling, we recently had the pleasure of bringing together our skilled engineers, designers, and employees from across our company to collaborate on an inventive robotic project. This endeavor reflects our commitment to manufacturing top-tier automation equipment and measuring solutions for a wide range of industries, including automotive and machining.

The completed unit will find its home with Robroy Enclosures, a respected local company situated only nine miles away. This project underscores the value of community collaboration and our belief in sourcing projects within our local vicinity.

In the past, opportunities to partner with local companies have been limited, but when Robroy expressed their need for a robotic machine to enhance their fiberglass enclosures production process, we at Aggressive Tooling stepped up to the challenge, crafting an attractive proposal.

Our Operations Manager, Gabe Moore, fondly referred to this project, saying, "Finally, we landed one, and it's a pretty brilliant little project." The partnership between our two local businesses marks a noteworthy achievement and a significant milestone for Aggressive Tooling.

Gabe adds, “People often underestimate the scope of what we do. We are more than just a tool-manufacturing entity; we specialize in automation, including for fiberglass enclosures."

After five dedicated months of hard work, what started as an idea on a napkin transformed into a pioneering robotic machine. This project was a first for us — working with a fiberglass injection molding company. As Justin Moore, our Sales Manager, describes, "This machine, equipped with two robots, meticulously crafts the holes inside the fiberglass boxes."

We were proud to welcome representatives from Robroy Enclosures and the Daily News to a live demonstration of the new machine. The Robroy Enclosures President, Craig Mitchell, described the machine as a "game changer" for the enclosure industry.

The machine we built for Robroy Enclosures is not just a game changer; it's also designed to meet the increasing demand in the renewable energy market. Mitchell notes, "What this technology is going to do is create a one-piece flow. With this, we mold the units, modify the boxes, and place the finished units directly onto a truck within the same work cell."

We're proud that this project has not only paved the way for a lasting partnership with Robroy Enclosures, but it also reflects our commitment to keeping customers satisfied and maintaining those relationships for the long-term.

President Rich Jones highlighted our willingness to move beyond traditional boundaries, citing a recent project where we built a robotic seat line for hi-lows and excavators. In his words, "we are so much more than exhaust and tubing."

Aggressive Tooling's innovations didn't stop at the main function of the machine. We also equipped our robotic creation with a vacuum system for dust and debris collection, making it an efficient and cleaner option.

Gabe points out an innovative feature of our collaboration with Robroy Enclosures, "They specialize in enclosures, so they sent us some of their equipment to integrate into this project. They sent us equipment to make them equipment. That's pretty cool."

Our people, experience, and willingness to innovate make Aggressive Tooling the go-to provider for advanced machining and automation solutions. We look forward to catering to more such unique requirements and industry demands in the future.
